Bobby Robson: My Autobiography - Farewell but not Goodbye

My heartfelt thoughts go out to Bobby Robson's family at this sad time. Sir Bobby Robson was a former international footballer for England who became one of the most widely respected managers in the World game. In addition to managing England in two World Cups, Sir Bobby has also taken charge of numerous clubs including Barcelona, Newcastle United, PSV Eindhoven, Ipswich Town, Sporting Lisbon and Porto. If there is one inspirational book to read this year it surely is Bobby Robson: My Autobiography - Farewell but not Goodbye

Manchester United Update

The football season is finally over and because I started a thread on here about Manchester United a little while back, I thought it would be wise to conclude it with the final results. So here we are:

On 21st May 2008, fifty years after the Munich air disaster, Manchester United beat Chelsea in the 2008 UEFA Champions League Final and were crowned Champions of Europe. The team was led up to collect the trophy by Sir Bobby Charlton.

They are the English Premier League's reigning champions, and have won the Premier League/Football League 17 times. In 1968, they became the first English club to win the European Cup, beating S.L. Benfica 4–1, they won a second European Cup in 1999. Their third European Cup they won on 21st May 2008. They also hold the record for the most FA Cup titles with 11.

Man Utd win the Premier League title

Update: Manchester United (Man Utd) have won the English Premier League title.

Manchester United retained the Premier League title on Sunday when they won 2-0 at Wigan Athletic with a first-half Cristiano Ronaldo penalty and a goal by substitute Ryan Giggs.

United ended the season on 87 points, two clear of Chelsea, who drew 1-1 at home with Bolton Wanderers after an injury-time Matt Taylor goal for the visitors cancelled out a scrappy effort by halftime substitute Andriy Shevchenko.

It was United's 10th Premier League title and 17th championship in all and they will now go for a double when they face Chelsea in the Champions League final on May 21.
