"Shh... Jade: Catch a Falling Star
Jade Cerisa Lorraine Goody - Date of Birth: 05/06/1981
Jade Goody first appeared on TV in 2002 when she was a contestant on Big Brother. On 2 May 2006, Jade Goody published her autobiography titled Jade: My Autobiography, and in June she launched her own fragrance, "Shh..." Jade Goody, which became Superdrug's third best-selling fragrance. Jade entered the Celebrity Big Brother house on 5th January 2007 with her mother and her boyfriend Jack Tweed. During the show Jade was accused of making racist remarks about fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty.
Most recently Jade Goody found out she had cervical cancer whilst in the Indian Big Brother house. After operations and chemotherapy the cancer has continued to spread. In February 2009, after the cancer metastasised, she was told that it was terminal. She married Jack Tweed on 22 February 2009.
Jade: Catch a Falling Star
The moment that Jade Goody stepped out of her car and into the Big Brother house, her life changed forever. As soon as the blonde, bubbly dental nurse from south London opened her mouth on national TV, she secured her place as the unofficial winner of the third series of Big Brother. The glitz and glamour of Jade's sudden fame was a far cry from the real life drama of the estate where she made her start. Brought up in a run-down part of Bermondsey, caring for her disabled mum at an age when most kids are looking after their dolls, Jade didn't have an easy childhood. With her dad in prison, and her mum struggling to cope, she had experienced more by the time she started secondary school than most people do in their whole lifetime. Now, over six years after Jade's unforgettable exit from the Big Brother house in 2002, she is still the most famous reality star in the UK. Her warmth, enthusiasm and dizzy exterior endeared her to millions of people, but behind this lies one very tough and determined lady. Recently diagnosed with cervical cancer while taking part in India's BB-style show, she has had to face the toughest battle of her life in the full glare of the national media. A wonderful mum, with inspirational dedication, Jade is determined to give her boys, Bobby and Freddy, the upbringing she never had. There have been many trials and tribulations along the way and Jade is the first to admit that she has made some terrible mistakes, but, with brutal honesty that few could boast of, she refuses to gloss over the struggles and errors of her past. She speaks candidly about the time she spent having therapy and tells all about her past relationships and the trauma of her recent diagnosis. Packed full of witty anecdotes and heart-rending tales, all told with Jade's usual humour and unique turn of phrase, this remarkable book, the second instalment of her life story, is by turns funny, moving and disarmingly honest. A frank autobiography, with no detail spared, it reveals the real Jade Goody - up close and personal.
